Common use of Work in Advance of Shift Clause in Contracts

Work in Advance of Shift. When a nurse reports for work in advance of the scheduled shift and continues working during the scheduled shift, all hours worked prior to the scheduled shift shall be paid at time and one-half (1 1/2) the regular rate of pay. Work performed during the scheduled shift shall be paid at the regular rate of pay unless otherwise required by this Agreement. A nurse who reports for work in advance of the scheduled shift will not be released from duty prior to the completion of that scheduled shift for the purpose of avoiding overtime pay unless there is mutual consent.

Work in Advance of Shift.
