Where a Long Term Occasional. Teacher substitutes for a teacher who is receiving a travel allowance the Long Term Occasional Teacher shall receive, in accordance with the Board’s procedures, reimbursement at the Board’s current per kilometre rate.

  • Long Term Occasional Teachers or teachers hired in term positions, shall be eligible for the SEB as described herein for a maximum of eight (8) weeks with the length of the benefit limited by the term of the assignment.   • Long-Term Substitute Teachers A long-term substitute teacher is defined as a teacher appointed by the Board of Education to fill a temporary teaching vacancy in a classroom for a period of ninety (90) consecutive days or longer. Long-term substitute teachers are entitled to all the rights and privileges accorded a first year teacher, prorated for the period of appointment.

AFSCME shall, within thirty (30) days of payment to the employee, reimburse the State for payment of appropriate salary, benefits, paid leave time, pension, and all other employer-related costs. Where this reimbursement is expressly prohibited by law or funding source, the employee shall be granted a leave of absence but the Employer will not be responsible for continuing to pay the employee’s salary and benefits. AFSCME shall indemnify and hold the State harmless against any and all claims, damages, suits, or other forms of liability which may arise out of any action taken or not taken by the State for the purpose of complying with this provision.

  • What Will Happen After We Receive Your Letter When we receive your letter, we must do two things:

  • Long Term Leave of Absence The District may grant any employee an unpaid long-term leave of absence for up to one (1) year for study, child rearing, travel, medical, or other mutually agreed to reason(s). Upon Board approval leave may be extended an additional year. Employees granted such a leave shall be permitted to stay on the District insurance programs at their own expense (carriers permitting), shall not gain or lose seniority or other benefits, but shall not be granted advancement credit on the salary schedule for the period of the leave. Upon return from such leave, the employee shall be entitled to the same position or a position substantially equivalent to the position held prior to the leave.
