Recognition of Disability. 4.2.3.1 A Life Assured shall be required to submit standard claims documentation, medical or other evidence as may be reasonably required by the Insurer to establish whether a Total and Permanent Disability claim is valid in terms of this policy. The Life Assured shall be medically examined by a medical practitioner registered by the South African Medical and Dental Council or any other such similar body, approved by the Insurer, in any other territory as specified in terms of clause 2.6. Any such initial medical examination shall be at the Life Assureds’ expense and subsequent medical examinations and clinical tests in support of the claim shall be for the expense of the Insurer. The Insurer may defer the assessment of the claim pending the production of such medical evidence.

Recognition of Disability. 1. Members whose disability is recognised by the IV are deemed disabled to the same degree by the Zusatzkasse, provided they were insured with the Zusatzkasse upon commencement of the incapacity for work whose cause led to the disability.

  • Definition of Disability For purposes of this Agreement, “Disability” (and any of its forms) means that, for more than six consecutive months, the Executive is unable, with reasonable accommodation, to perform the duties described in Section 4.01 on a full-time basis due to a physical or mental disability or infirmity.

  • Recurrence of Disability If you become disabled for the same reason within six (6) months of your return to full-time permanent work after a long-term disability, the second disability period will be considered a continuation of the first. You will then immediately begin receiving your long-term disability benefits. If the period exceeds six months or if the new disability is not related to the first, a new claim must be filed under the Short- Term Disability Plan.

  • Employment of Disabled Workers The Union and the Employer acknowledge their obligations to accommodate certain individuals under the Human Rights Code of Ontario and agrees that this Collective Agreement will be interpreted in such a way as to permit those obligations to be discharged.

  • ILLNESS AND DISABILITY 8.0 At the beginning of each school year each teacher shall be credited with ten (10) days of leave, the unused portion of which shall accumulate from year to year to one hundred fifty-five (155) days pro-rated based on the teacher’s regularly scheduled work day/week.
