Promotions Out of the Union. Any employee promoted out of the bargaining unit shall retain the seniority he/she had at the time of promotion. He/she shall not accumulate Union seniority while out of the bargaining unit. Seniority employees wishing to return to the Union because of layoff/termination of Non-Union position may bump back into the Union position holding job classification and seniority held at the time of promotion out of the bargaining unit. Severance pay, etc., shall not be paid to those employees exercising his/her right to re-enter the Union. The lowest seniority employee shall be laid off upon re-entry of higher seniority personnel.

  • Time Off for Union Activities A. Conventions and Conferences Union-designated employees may be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored conventions or conferences. Approval for the time off must be granted in advance of the absence and in accordance with the Employer’s leave policies.   • Professional Development Reimbursement Management will provide reimbursement for approved professional development expenses for Lieutenants and Sergeants. Funds may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing Lieutenants and Sergeants for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities. Management must approve of the specific professional development request in advance. Denial will require written notification to the requesting Lieutenant or Sergeant.

  • Community Engagement Integration Activities The SP will support the HSP to engage the community of diverse persons and entities in the area where it provides health services when setting priorities for the delivery of health services and when developing plans for submission to the LHIN including but not limited to CAPS and integration proposals.

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.
