POSTING ADVERTISING. The apprentice position should be posted internally first. Candidates must complete a suitable aptitude test from an outside source as agreed by both parties. If there are any interested internal candidates, they should be given first consideration. The minimum requirement for all candidates is that they must be eligible to participate in the Ontario Apprenticeship Program (must have completed Grade 12 or successfully completed an academic standard prescribed for the regulations by the trade). If there are no interested/qualified internal candidates, we would seek an external candidate, preferable someone who has already completed their required educational components.

  • Outside Advertising The Employer reserves the right to advertise new or vacant positions as deemed necessary. All internal applicants for new or vacant positions will be given first consideration and must be disqualified for the position before it is offered to outside applicants.

  • Postings The posting will include the projected end date of the position. A casual employee who bids into any vacancy pursuant to Article 17.03(A) and (B) above will have her status changed to regular for the duration of the time worked in the temporary position and will then revert to casual status. Internal regular employees will return to their previous status and external candidates will return to their pre-employment status. Employees in these positions will be given a minimum of ten (10) calendar days’ notice of any change to the projected end date of the position.
