Positions for Recent Graduates. Notwithstanding the provisions of this 21 Article, the Medical Center shall maintain the right to hire a maximum of one hundred 22 sixty-five recent RN graduates per fiscal year unless mutually agreed to by the 23 Association and to post positions as recent RN graduate positions. Recent Graduates 24 are defined as nurses who have graduated with their ADN or BSN up to one year before 25 hire and have been licensed for less than six months and have less than six months of 26 acute care experience as an RN. 28 The Labor Management Committee shall monitor the effectiveness and 29 outcomes of the nurse residency program. This includes collaborating to solicit 1 feedback from frontline nurses, in particular preceptors and recent Nurse Residents for 2 this purpose. The parties mutually agree to collaboratively review the previous year’s 3 turnover and vacancy rates, as well as local, regional and national projections. 5 For the Nurse Residency Competency Development Pool (NRCDP), Nurse 6 Residents will be hired into the program through an interview process that will include 7 frontline caregivers. Upon hire, Nurse Residents in the NRCDP will orient to various 8 units to gain competency in accordance with Article 14.2.2. The rating of exemplary on a standard indicates that practice significantly exceeds proficient and could serve as a model of practice on that standard district-wide.  Proficient: the Educator’s performance fully and consistently meets the requirements of a standard or overall. Proficient practice is understood to be fully satisfactory.
