Permanent and Total Disability Pension. An Employee who is eligible for a pension pursuant to Paragraph 3 of Article IV shall be entitled, upon his retirement on or after the Effective Date, to receive a monthly pension equal to (a) $60.00 (effective for retirements occurring after August 17, 2017) multiplied by the Employee's years of credited service reduced by (b) the immediate annuity equivalent of the Employee's Additional Employer Contributions Account under the Savings Plan as of the date his pension commences hereunder. For purposes of this calculation, the Employee's Additional Employer Contributions Account under the Savings Plan as of the date the Employee's pension commences hereunder shall mean the actual amount in such Account as of such date plus any amount withdrawn from such Account prior to such date for any reason (including hardship withdrawal pursuant to Section 6.7 of the Savings Plan, a withdrawal from such account pursuant to a qualified domestic relations order or a deemed withdrawal upon default of a loan from such Account to the Employee) with interest imputed on any withdrawn amount from the date of any such withdrawal through the date the Employee's pension commences hereunder at the rate of 7.75% per annum compounded monthly. The immediate annuity equivalent of the Employee's Additional Employer Contribution Account under the Savings Plan shall be the amount in such Account as of the date the Employee's pension commences hereunder (determined as described in preceding sentence) converted to an annuity payable as a single life and five year certain annuity to the Employee commencing as of the date the Employee's pension commences hereunder using an interest rate of 7.75% and the 1983 Group Annuity Mortality Table, Male. In no event will this reduction exceed $7 multiplied by the Employee's years of credited service. The Employee shall, at the time of his application for a Permanent and Total Disability Pension, also make application for a Disability Insurance Benefit under the Social Security law and take reasonable and necessary action, including a request for reconsideration of an initial denial, in order to assure proper consideration of such application. The Employer shall render assistance to an Employee in his request for a reconsideration of an initial denial of an award for a Disability Insurance Benefit under the Social Security law.   • Total Disability (a) Total disability, as used in this Plan, means the complete inability because of an accident or sickness of a covered employee to perform all the duties of his/her own occupation for the first two (2) years of disability. Thereafter, employees able by reason of education, training or experience to perform the duties of a gainful occupation for which the rate of pay is not less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the current rate of pay of their regular occupation at date of disability will not be considered totally disabled and will therefore not be eligible for benefits under this Long Term Disability Plan.

  • Permanent Disability Permanent Disability" shall mean Employee's physical or mental incapacity to perform his or her usual duties with such condition likely to remain continuously and permanently as determined by Employer.

  • Disability Period The period in which an employee cannot continuously perform the essential duties of any position available in accordance with the priority placement criteria of the Rehabilitation and Re-employment Procedure.

  • Definition of Total Disability Total disability means that the employee is unable, because of sickness or accident, to perform the duties of their regular occupation. This definition applies for the first twenty-four (24) months of payments. After this time, the inability to perform an occupation for which the employee is reasonably fitted by training, education or experience will constitute total disability. It is not required that an employee be confined to home, but they must be under the regular care of a physician.

  • Long Term Disability Benefit In the event an employee, while covered under this plan, becomes totally disabled as a result of an accident or a sickness, then, after the employee has been totally disabled for seven (7) months, including periods approved in Section 1.3(a) and (c), he/she shall be eligible to receive a monthly benefit as follows:

  • Disability Retirement If, as a result of your incapacity due to physical or mental illness, You shall have been absent from the full-time performance of your duties with the Company for 6 consecutive months, and within 30 days after written notice of termination is given You shall not have returned to the full-time performance of your duties, your employment may be terminated for "Disability."   • Short Term Disability Benefits Paragraph 1: The Board shall provide short term disability benefits as set forth in the Short Term Disability Summary Plan Description. Short term disa- bility benefits for disabilities resulting from non-occupational illness or injury, shall be paid at the rate of 70% of the teacher’s regular daily rate, subject to all applicable deductions. A teacher may choose to save up to five (5) accumulat- ed temporary leave days. Following the exhaustion of temporary leave, there is a five day waiting period before short term disability benefits begin. The five day waiting period will be waived for absences greater than 30 calendar days and short term disability payments shall be paid retroactively.

  • Long Term Disability Benefits A benefit level of seventy percent (70%) of monthly earnings shall apply. Benefits would commence after a waiting period of seventeen (17) weeks, when Short Term Disability Benefits terminate. Terms of the Master Policy with the Insurance Company shall apply.
