Notice to Community. Within thirty (30) calendar days of the Effective Date of this Agreement, SFHMC shall provide notice of the availability of auxiliary aids and services free of charge. (A Model Notice to the Community has been provided at Attachment C for your reference.). The Notice shall be conspicuously posted and maintained in the lobby and admitting areas and wherever a Patient's Xxxx of Rights is required by law to be posted. The Notice shall be printed in bold font, with a character height for all words of 5/8 inch to 2 inches on a contrasting white background and will include the international symbol for “interpreters” and “TTYs” and the following statement, or language to the following effect: To ensure effective communication with patients, their family members and companions who are deaf or hard of hearing, we provide auxiliary aids and services free of charge. Sign language and oral interpreters, TTY’s, video remote interpreting (VRI), assisted listening devices, and/or other auxiliary aids and services are available free of charge to patients and companions who need them for effective communication.
