Notice to Appear. If the defendant fails to pay a fixed sum, request a hearing, or appear in response to a citation or violation notice, the district clerk or a magistrate judge may issue a notice for the defendant to appear be- fore the court on a date certain. The notice may give the defendant an additional oppor- tunity to pay a fixed sum in lieu of appear- ance. The district clerk must serve the notice on the defendant by mailing a copy to the de- fendant’s last known address.
Notice to Appear. Whenever any certified staff member is required to appear before an administrator or representative of the district concerning any matter which could reasonably result in the members dismissal, non-renewal, non-extension, suspension, disciplinary action, or being placed on a program of assistance for improvement, the member shall be advised of the nature and purpose of the meeting and of the member’s right to have a representative of the Association present at the member’s request. The notice shall be given twenty-four hours in advance, when possible.
