Medical Leave ofAbsence. Any employee with seniority who is unable to work for a period of greater than three (3) working days due to illness or injury, and who furnishes satisfactory evidence thereof, indicating the anticipated length of absence, will be granted a Leave of Absence while disabled with no loss of seniority. Medical Leaves ofAbsence will not count against the ten (10) "no-fault" days. In cases deemed as repeat occurrences, they will be reviewed by the Company and the Union; which could affect your "no- fault" days.

After seven (7) "no -fault" occurrences, each Medical Leave of Absence pursuant to this article will count as a single "no-fault" occurrence and will be counted toward the ten (10) 57 "no-fault" days per year pursuant to Article 36.01. In cases deemed as repeat occurrences, they will be reviewed by the Company and the Union; which could affect your "no- fault "days.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Medical Leaves of Absence When recommended by an employee's personal physician in writing, a medical leave of absence for a three (3) month period will be granted by the Sheriff.   • Extended Medical Leave A teacher who is unable to teach because of personal illness or disability and who has exhausted all available sick leave shall be granted leave for up to one (1) year. Any request for this leave must state the probable date of return and be accompanied by a verifying physician's statement. If the leave was granted as a result of a work related injury the employee may request and shall be granted a one (1) year extension of this leave. Before returning, such teacher must submit a physician's release. To be eligible for an extended medical leave of absence, an employee must have been actively employed on paid status with APS a minimum of one contract year immediately prior to the leave start date. All intermittent medical leaves will be addressed according to FMLA regulations.

  • Parental Leave of Absence A. A female unit member may use any or all accumulated leave during pre- and post-natal care for that period of time she is temporarily disabled, as determined by the unit member and her physician.
