Leave for Personal Reasons. 1. It is agreed that, upon written application, an employee may be granted a leave without pay not to exceed six (6) months, subject to renewal, for reasons of personal illness, disability, educational improvement, child care, serious illness of a member of the family, or other purpose deemed proper and approved by the appointment authority and the Personnel Administrator. Approval of such leaves shall not be unreasonably withheld.
