Casual Employees A casual employee is one who is not regularly scheduled to work other than during periods that such employee shall relieve a regular full-time or regular part-time employee. Casual employees accumulate seniority on an hourly basis and are entitled to such benefits as are contained in the “Addendum - Casual Employees”.
CULTURAL LEAVE FOR ABORIGINAL EMPLOYEES The Superintendent of Schools or their designate, may grant five (5) paid days per year leave with seven (7) days written notice from the employee to participate in Aboriginal Cultural event(s). Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied.
Seasonal Employees Seasonal employees still on trial service should refer to Article 71, Sections 2 and 3 regarding salary increases.
Potential Employees The Employer agrees to acquaint potential Employees with the fact that a Union Agreement is in effect, and with the conditions of employment set out in the articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-Off.
Provisional Employees A second year Provisional classroom teacher who receives a summative rating of 3- Proficient or 4- Distinguished may be granted continuing contract status for the subsequent school year at the district’s discretion.
Promoted Employees 1. An employee who has served one-half (1/2) or more of the time required to be considered for their next step increase, shall upon promotion to a position in a higher wage range in the Bargaining Unit, be placed at Step A of the higher range or such other step as will provide an increase of two
Exempt Employees (1) Except as may otherwise be provided by specific terms of this Agreement, C.G.S. Section 5-245(b)(1) shall be deemed to exempt from overtime payment all employees being paid above Salary Grade 24, and those unclassified positions which on June 30, 1977 were deemed exempt positions. Subject to the operating needs of the agency:
Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime. Casual Employee Casual employee means a part-time employee who is not normally scheduled to work but who may be called in to work to provide coverage as required.
Excluded Employees Employees excluded from the bargaining unit who work for an Employer signatory to this Agreement may participate in any of the foregoing benefits under rules and regulations established by the Trustees. The trustees shall determine the contributions required for such benefits.
