Initial Squad Assignments. The Employer shall assign all employees to a squad after employee facility and shift bid selections have been finalized. Except as otherwise provided herein, squads shall be established by utilizing the employee classification seniority list to the extent that it will not hinder the operational control, effectiveness, and efficiency of each involved shift. Squad assignments shall be final and will not be changed except for good cause. A union representative shall be permitted to be present during the employee assignment of squads and to review the assignments. Subject to the foregoing, initial squad assignments shall be made by placing the most senior employee at the top of a shift squad, the next most senior employee shall be placed at the top of the opposite shift squad, and so forth, until the squads for that shift are filled. Probationary employees shall be assigned at the direction of the Employer.

Except as otherwise provided herein, squads shall be established by utilizing the employee classification seniority list to the extent that it will not hinder the operational control, effectiveness, gender requirement, and efficiency of each involved squad. The Employer shall also have the right to ensure that at least two (2) employees of each gender are assigned to each squad at each facility. Squad assignments shall be final and will not be changed except for good cause. A union representative shall be permitted to be present during the employee assignment of squads and to review the assignments. Subject to the foregoing, initial squad assignments shall be made by placing the most senior employee at the top of a shift squad, the next most senior employee shall be placed at the top of the opposite shift squad, and so forth, until the squads for that shift are filled.
