Initial Probationary Period Affected by Change in Class. An employee who has not completed the initial probationary period, and who promotes, demotes, or transfers to another class, will serve the entire initial probationary period for the new classification. There will be no credit given for probationary time worked in the former classification. The following exception applies to this paragraph:

Initial Probationary Period Affected by Change in Class. An employee who has not completed an initial probationary period, and with approval from the department head or designee, voluntarily promotes, demotes, or transfers to another class, will serve a new twenty-six (26) pay periodone (1) year initial probationary period in a paid status regardless of any probationary period that was served in the former classification. Employees shall receive credit for a full-pay period whenever they are in paid status for any time during that pay period

If the class to which the employee promotes or transfers requires 2080 hours initial probation, the employee will serve 1040 hours or the difference between 2080 hours and the number of actual hours in a paid status, whichever is greater, following the change. An employee who has not completed the initial probationary period, and who demotes to another class, will continue to serve initial probation to include the required length of initial probation for the class from the date of the demotion. The employee will be credited for any previous initial probationary hours served in the same class and same department during the current period of continuous service.

  • Initial Probationary Period An employee in an initial probationary period shall have no seniority until completion of his/her probationary period. Upon the completion of said probation, the employee will acquire seniority from his/her original date of hire. An employee who has a continuous period of temporary, interim, intermittent or seasonal employment prior to receiving permanent appointment shall acquire seniority for such time only if that permanent appointment occurred prior to July 1, 1989.

  • Extension of Probationary Period The probationary period shall not be extended except in the case of extended illness or injury or compelling personal situation during which time the employee was unable to work. In such cases, the probationary period may be extended for the length of time the ill or injured employee was unable to work.

  • Automatic Renewal Limitation for TIPS Sales No TIPS Sale may incorporate an automatic renewal clause that exceeds month to month terms with which the TIPS Member must comply. All renewal terms incorporated into a TIPS Sale Supplemental Agreement shall only be valid and enforceable when Vendor received written confirmation of acceptance of the renewal term from the TIPS Member for the specific renewal term. The purpose of this clause is to avoid a TIPS Member inadvertently renewing an Agreement during a period in which the governing body of the TIPS Member has not properly appropriated and budgeted the funds to satisfy the Agreement renewal. Any TIPS Sale Supplemental Agreement containing an “Automatic Renewal” clause that conflicts with these terms is rendered void and unenforceable.

  • Completion of Probationary Period An employee who has completed the probationary period may be suspended without pay or discharged only for cause. An employee who has completed the probationary period and is suspended without pay or discharged shall have access to the grievance procedure.

  • Term; Suspension; Termination A. This Agreement shall become effective on the date that it is approved by both parties, set forth on the first page of the Agreement, and shall continue in effect until both parties have fully performed their respective obligations under this Agreement, unless sooner terminated as provided herein.
