Filling of Non-Patrol Job Assignments. Whenever the City determines that a vacancy occurs in a job assignment, the Division shall post the job assignment opening for fifteen (15) calendar days and shall allow any interested members of the same rank to apply within the posting period. The Division shall provide notice on the job posting as to any specialized training and/or technical skills which will be required for the assignment after the assignment is made. In filling the job assignment, the Division shall give consideration to all applicants who apply. The Chief shall appoint two sergeants and a lieutenant or deputy chief to interview all candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the assignment. The interview panel shall present to the Chief the top three (3) candidates based on the criteria set forth in this paragraph. Skill, ability, work record and seniority shall be the criteria for selection of an applicant to fill a job assignment vacancy. The Chief shall appoint one of the three (3) members from the list prepared by the interview panel. For any Non-Patrol assignment, an applicant must have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous service with the City of Reynoldsburg.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • ASSIGNMENT AND SUB-CONTRACTING 19.1 The Contractor shall not assign or sub-contract any obligations under the Contract without the prior consent of the Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld or delayed. Sub-contracting any part of the Contract shall not relieve the Contractor of any of its obligations or duties.
