Common use of Family Illness Leave Clause in Contracts

Family Illness Leave. Employees shall be granted a leave of absence with pay of not more than three (3) days during a contract year, when such absence is occasioned by the illness of any relative which necessitates the presence of the employee. Such leave is non-accumulative and is not to be taken from sick leave.

Family Illness Leave. Employees shall shall, upon request, be granted a leave of absence with pay of not more than for up to three (3) days during a contract year, year when such absence is occasioned by the illness of immediate family. Immediate family shall include: children; spouse, domestic partner, parent or stepparent, sibling, or any relative which necessitates the presence member of the employee. Family illness leave applies when such absence is occasioned the health condition of a family 13 supervision by the illness of any relative which necessitates the presence of the employee. Such leave is non-accumulative and is not to be taken from sick leave.

The employee will certify to the circumstances of the illness upon return to work. Such leave is non-accumulative and is not to be taken from sick leave., unless taken in accordance w ith Section 24.2.1.‌
