The 'Epidemics and Emergencies' clause defines how contractual obligations are affected in the event of widespread health crises or other significant emergencies. Typically, this clause allows parties to suspend, delay, or modify their performance requirements if an epidemic, pandemic, or officially declared emergency makes it impossible or impractical to fulfill the contract as originally agreed. For example, if government-imposed lockdowns prevent a supplier from delivering goods, this clause may excuse the delay without penalty. Epidemics and Emergencies. An employee shall be paid his/her regular salary for any period during which he/she is unable to work at his/her regular place of employment because it is closed due to quarantine, epidemic, or other conditions involving the health or safety of students or employees.
