Conversion of Residual Balance of Sick Leave. Freeze 800 hours of the unused sick leave balance available at the date s/he commences receipt of benefits from the City’s Long-Term Disability Program. The Residual Balance of Unused Sick Leave (excess over 800 hours) may be converted to fully-paid extended health care coverage as described in Section D.1.a. above.
Conversion of Residual Balance of Sick Leave. Freeze 800 hours of the unused sick leave balance available when Long Term Disability benefits commence. The Residual Balance of Unused Sick Leave (excess over 800 hours) may be converted to fully-paid extended health care as described under Option 1 above. At the time of Service Retirement occurring while the Eligible Employee is eligible to receive benefits from the City’s Long Term Disability Program, an Eligible Employee will receive the dollar value of the frozen 800 hours of unused sick leave computed at the rate of one hour of pay for each four hours of unused sick leave.

The Police Employee may elect to receive as a cash payment the dollar value of 800 hours of the unused sick leave computed in accordance with Section 4.52 of Policy & Procedure No. 41, SICK LEAVE. The Residual Balance of Unused Sick Leave (excess over 800 hours) may be converted to fully-paid extended health care coverage as described in Section D.1.a. above.
