Community Need and Interest. There is currently no IB programme in Southeast Idaho. The introduction of the IB Programmes through the Academy promises to benefit students, families, and the community at large in the region. Founded on proven philosophies and research-based teaching methodologies, the Academy’s IB framework for curriculum will: • Allow the Idaho Core Standards to be taught more effectively. • Provide a unique environment where students learn in small groups and at their individual instructional level, regardless of their designated grade or age. • Give families a choice to pursue a more rigorous educational opportunity for their child(ren). The result will be an increased number of students in Southeast Idaho graduating and attending college, and beyond this, the creation of a community of lifelong learners.

Community Need and Interest. Across the State of Idaho there is an urgent need for more high-quality educational options that prepare students for post-secondary success. Although there are some high performing charter and traditional schools, most of these schools are concentrated in a few areas, are overenrolled, and/or have long waitlists. Idaho’s population has one of the lowest percentages of college degrees. According to the Lumina Foundation, only three other states have a lower college attainment rate than Idaho. Student Outcome Expectations: Gem Prep expects students to graduate ready for the rigors of college with both the content knowledge and competencies necessary for success. Graduates will be effective problem solvers, life-long learners, self-motivated, and responsible citizens.

Community Need and Interest. Xxxx Xxx School District (WADA) is the largest school district in Idaho. With Idaho schools ranking as one of the lowest nationally in dollars spent per student on education, school districts statewide are taxed, endeavoring to make the most of each dollar to meet the ever- increasing demand to improve, innovate and prepare students for the developing global marketplace in which they will be asked to compete. The Meridian community has a significant interest in charter schools. Charter schools in Meridian enrolled over 2070 students in 2016, leaving an additional 1145 students on local charter schools’ waiting lists. An additional high quality educational choice for students in the Meridian area is greatly needed; one which serves students on an individualized basis utilizing innovative technology. The Gem Prep: Meridian high school blended, flex model is unique to the Meridian attendance area, as well as to the state; incorporating a blend of face-to-face classes, online classes, dual credit classes and virtual classes all facilitated from the school campus. Gem Prep: Meridian is not considered a virtual school, as virtual options are only one component of the program as a whole. Inherent in the Gem Prep: Meridian model is the ability for students to access high quality teachers in any given subject without regard to the campus location through real-time virtual classrooms. The program will enable students in Gem Prep: Meridian greater access to quality teachers from multiple regions around the state, because the hiring candidate pool is not limited to a 30+ mile radius around one particular enrollment area.

  • CERTIFICATION PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION AGAINST FIREARM AND AMMUNITION INDUSTRIES (Texas law as of September 1, 2021) By submitting a proposal to this Solicitation, you certify that you agree, when it is applicable, to the following required by Texas law as of September 1, 2021: If (a) company is not a sole proprietorship; (b) company has at least ten (10) full-time employees; (c) this contract has a value of at least $100,000 that is paid wholly or partly from public funds; (d) the contract is not excepted under Tex. Gov’t Code Ch. 2274 of SB 19 (87th session), the company hereby certifies and verifies that the company, or association, corporation, partnership, joint venture, limited partnership, limited liability partnership, or limited liability company, including a wholly owned subsidiary, majority-owned subsidiary parent company, or affiliate of these entities or associations, that exists to make a profit, does not have a practice, policy, guidance, or directive that discriminates against a firearm entity or firearm trade association and will not discriminate during the term of this contract against a firearm entity or firearm trade association.   • BUY AMERICA REQUIREMENT (Applies only to Federally Funded Highway and Transit Projects) With respect to products purchased by Customer for use in federally funded highway projects, Contractor shall comply with all federal procurement laws and regulations with respect to such projects, including the Buy American provisions set forth in 23 U.S.C. Section 313, 23 C.F.R. Section 635.410, as amended, and the Steel and Iron Preference provisions of Texas Transportation Code Section 223.045, to the extent applicable. Contractor agrees to provide all certifications required by Customer regarding such programs. With respect to products purchased by Customer for use in federally funded transit projects, Contractor shall comply with all federal procurement laws and regulations with respect to such projects, including the Buy American provisions set forth in 49 U.S.C. Section 5323(j)(1), 49 C.F.R. Sections 661.6 or 661.12, to the extent applicable. Contractor agrees to provide all certifications required by Customer regarding such programs.
