AUTHORITY FOR APPOINTMENTS. Authority to make appointments to all positions in the City's service, except those of City Clerk, Deputy City Clerk, City Treasurer, Deputy City Treasurer, Election Clerk, and uniformed personnel (except Chiefs of the Police and Fire Departments), is vested in the City Manager. Before being given a permanent appointment, each employee shall undergo a thorough examination by a physician designated by the City, and no one shall be employed unless the examining physician certifies that he or she is physically able to perform the essential functions required by his or her position.

  • Term Appointments 16.3.4.1 A Term appointment carries no implication of renewal or continuation beyond the contractually limited term. A person holding a Term appointment may apply for a Probationary or Continuing appointment if such a position is available.

  • Committee Appointments Members of the transfer screening committee and transfer interview committee shall be taken from the general hiring committee. The hiring committee will determine the appointments to the transfer screening and interview committees under conditions in Sections 5.3.2.1 and 5.3.2.2.

  • Acting Appointments If an Employer appoints a Teacher to act in a promotion position for ten or more consecutive school days, the Employer must pay the Teacher the rate prescribed for that position.

  • Missed Appointments From time to time it may be necessary for Landlord and Landlord’s authorized agents including, but not limited to, property management personnel, maintenance contractors, appraisers, and real estate agents to gain access to the Property for the purpose of inspecting the Property or performing repairs and Tenant does hereby grant permission to Landlord and Landlord’s authorized agents to enter the Property for these purposes.
