Stormwater harvesting definition

Stormwater harvesting means capturing stormwater for irrigation or other beneficial use.
Stormwater harvesting means the process of extracting Stormwater from the Stormwater Network and treating it using physical, chemical and/or biological processes to produce Re-use Water suitable for a specific end use.
Stormwater harvesting means to prevent the discharge of a given volume of stormwater into surface waters of the state by deliberate application of stormwater for irrigation (such as irrigation of golf courses, cemeteries, highway medians, parks, playgrounds, school yards, retail nurseries, agricultural lands, and residential and commercial properties) or industrial uses (such as cooling water, process water, and wash water).

Examples of Stormwater harvesting in a sentence

  • Stormwater management BMP means an excavation or embankment and related areas designed to retain stormwater runoff. A stormwater management BMP may either be normally dry (that is, a detention basin or infiltration system), retain water in a permanent pool (a retention basin), or be planted mainly with wetland vegetation (most constructed stormwater wetlands).
