Specialty means a specific branch of medicine practiced by a licensed individual who has obtained education or qualifica- tions in the specific branch in addition to the education or qualifications required for the individual’s license.
Specialty means a broad, population-based focus of study encompassing the common health-related problems of a particular group of patients and the likely co-morbidities, interventions, and responses to those problems.

More Definitions of Specialty

Specialty or "specialist services" means those services, treatments, or diagnostic tests intended to provide the patient with a higher level of medical care or a more definitive level of diagnosis than that routinely provided by the primary care provider.
Specialty means any branch or discipline of geology that may be recognized under this chapter or regulations promulgated by the board for certifying specialization in a specific geologic field of study or related scientific field of study, or both.
