Sexualized violence definition

Sexualized violence means any non-consensual, unwanted actual, attempted, or threatened act or behaviour, that is carried out through sexual means or by targeting a person sexually, or targeting a person’s sexuality. This act or behaviour may or may not involve physical contact. Sexualized violence includes all forms of sexual misconduct as set out in the Sexual Violence and Misconduct Policy Act, S.B.C 2016, c.23 (as amended), including but not limited to:

Anyone engaging in physically aggressive behaviour or sexualized violence may be evicted from residence, and may be referred to the Saanich Police Department and/or the Office of Student Life for follow up under any University of Victoria policy concerning non‐academic student misconduct and/or the Human Rights and Equity office.

"Victim of domestic violence" also includes any person, regardless of age, who has been subjected to domestic violence by a person with whom the victim has a child in common, or with whom the victim anticipates having a child in common, if one of the parties is pregnant.
