Retail sales and service definition

Retail sales and service means an establishment that provides retail sales, rental, services processing, and repair of new merchandise, primarily intended for consumer or household use. Services provided include those of a personal convenience nature, and the cleaning, repair or sales of related products.

Retail sales and service means a store or shop selling merchandise to the general public. This definition includes food and beverage stores, appliance stores, bookstores, clothing stores, convenience stores, department stores, drug stores, animal and animal accessory sales, grocery stores, liquor stores, pharmacies, pawn shops, smoke shops, furniture stores, art galleries, home improvement stores, vehicle parts and accessories sales, hardware stores, and other similar land uses. A “restaurant with alcoholic beverage sales” means an eating establishment, where a portion of the premises is dedicated to the preparation and serving of alcoholic beverages for consumption on premises. A “restaurant with alcoholic beverage sales” is also a “drinking place” as defined in Chapter 12 of the San Bruno Municipal Code. The alternative use of the descriptive words “eating place with alcoholic beverage sales” in defining any form of “restaurant with alcoholic beverage sales” shall mean “restaurant with alcoholic beverage sales” as defined herein.
