Network Security definition

Network Security means the ability of the Transmission System to withstand sudden disturbances such as unforeseen conditions, electric short circuits or unanticipated loss of Elements consistent with reliability principles used to design, plan, operate, maintain and assess the actual or projected reliability of an electric system that are (i) established by any Governmental Authority, ERO, or RRO and (ii) implemented by Transmission Owner or required of Transmission Owner to be in compliance with Reliability Coordinator directives.
Network Security means the use of hardware, software and firmware, including, without limitation, firewalls, filters, routers, intrusion detection software, antivirus software, automated password management applications and other authentication mechanisms, which are designed to control or restrict the access to a Network, or any portion thereof. “Network Security” shall also include the use of third party service providers which provide, or assist in the provisioning, of such hardware, software and firmware.
Network Security means the use of hardware, "Software", firmware and written security policies and procedures by an "Insured", or by others on behalf of the "Insured", to protect against "Unauthorized Access" to or the "Unauthorized Use" of the "Insured's Computer System" including the use of the "Insured's Computer System" in a "Denial of Service Attack".
