Network Element definition

Network Element is As Defined in the Act.
Network Element is defined to mean a facility or equipment provided by BellSouth on an unbundled basis as is used by the CLEC in the provision of a telecommunications service. These unbundled network elements are consistent with the requirements of the FCC 51.319 rule. For purposes of this Agreement, combinations of Network Elements shall be referred to as “Combinations.”
Network Element is a facility or equipment used in the provision of Telecommunications Service or an information service or both. It also includes features, functions, and capabilities that are provided by means of such facility or equipment, including subscriber numbers, databases, signaling systems, and information sufficient for Billing and collection or used in the transmission, routing, or other provision of a Telecommunications Service or an information service or both, as is more fully described in this Agreement. "Operational Support Systems" or "OSS" mean pre-ordering, Provisioning, maintenance, repair and billing systems.
