If a grading committee does not recommend progression by a Career Medical Officer to Senior Career Medical Officer then the committee must provide written reasons to why progression was not recommended, which should provide guidance in respect of any future applications.

Such written reasons must be provided to the Career Medical Officer within 21 days of the date of the meeting held to consider the application for regrading.
