Common use of Witness or Jury Duty Clause in Contracts

Witness or Jury Duty. Employees will be paid full salary when they are required to serve on a jury or are subpoenaed as a witness. All moneys received as witness fees or pay for jury duty must be signed over to the Department, unless such fees are earned on days off or during other authorized leave with pay. Employees will be expected to report to work when less than a normal work day is required for jury or witness duties. This provision does not include court attendance for personal legal business or actions against the City of Xxxxxx or the City of Springfield. If, as a result of his/her official duties, an employee is required to appear in court as a witness for the Department, during off-duty hours, the employee will receive compensation at the overtime rate with a minimum of two (2) hours paid.
