The influence of commitment on the psychological contract and franchising McDonald and Xxxxx (2000, p86) stated that ―there are obvious links between the nature of the psychological contract and the individual‘s commitment to the organization‖. Organizational commitment may be defined as a global attitude that employees have toward the organization – an affective and evaluative response toward the organization (Xxxxx and Xxxxx, 1991). Organizational commitment is considered to be an emotional response (attitude) which links the individual to the organization. Xxxxx and Xxxxx (1991) mentioned three types of commitment: affective commitment which concerns with the extent to which the individual identifies with the organization; continuance commitment which concerns with individuals need to continue with the organization; and normative commitment which is similar to affective commitment and it is influenced with the society norms. According to Xxxxxx et al. (1979), the concept of commitment can be characterized by at least three factors: (a) a strong belief in the organization‟s goals and values, (b) a willingness to exert considerable effort on behalf of the organization; and (c) a strong desire to remain in the organization. Individuals enter the organization with specific skills, needs and goals. In return, individuals expect a work setting where they are able to use their skills, satisfy their desires, and achieve their goals (Xxxxx and Xxxxx, 1983). Commitment is likely to be strong in organisations where people are kept informed, taken into confidence, feel important, and treated with respect (Xxxxxx and Xxxxxx, 2001). Employees will also express strong commitment when they feel the organisation recognises their individual contributions and achievements (Winter and Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, 2002). The issue of commitment and motivation has a big impact on the franchise relationship (Xxxx and Xxxxx, 1988). Altinay (2006, p125) suggests that “creating a co-operative environment between the franchise partners to have a long and happy commercial marriage‖. Therefore, there should be stages of solid commitment between franchise partners (Xxxx, 2001). Based on the practical work undertaken by previous researchers, such as Xxxxx and Xxxxx (1983) and McDonald and Xxxxx (2000), it could be concluded that if the organization fails to provide resources able to satisfy the needs and goals of organizational members, resulting in lower job satisfaction, it might be possible that employees‟ commitment to the org...

The term of eligibility of candidates placed on the list shall be two (2) years from the date of layoff. When an employee is prohibited from participating in the secondary recall process due to the presence of an economic disciplinary sanction in his/her personnel file, that employee may request and shall be placed on the Secondary Recall List for the remainder of the two (2) years eligibility following layoff once the discipline has remained in the file for the length of time required by the agency’s contract.

  • Temporary Credit for Unamortized Specified Road Construction Cost When, under B8.33, Contracting Officer orders a delay or interruption of Purchaser’s Operations for more than 30 days when scheduled operations would be occurring but for the order, the Contracting Officer shall credit the unamortized cost of Specified Roads to Purchaser’s Timber Sale Account, upon the written request of Purchaser or at the discretion of Contracting Officer. The amount credited to Purchaser shall be limited to stumpage paid above Base Rates. Any Specified Road construction cost credited to Purchaser pursuant to this Subsection may be refunded or transferred at the request of Purchaser. However, if Purchaser has outstanding debt owing the United States, Contracting Officer must apply the amount of credit that could be refunded to the debt owed in accordance with the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, as amended. Upon written notice from Contracting Officer that the basis for the delay or interruption no longer exists, Purchaser shall pay for timber a per unit amount, in addition to Current Contract Rates, that is equal to the amount credited to Purchaser’s Timber Sale Account divided by 80 percent of the estimated remaining volume of the contract, until the full amount credited to Purchaser has been returned.

The information disclosed on this form and any updates will be a public record as defined by Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, and may therefore be inspected by any interested person.
