(This may require negotiation with the local school, CA, and the child’s caregiver to determine the most logical transportation plan.) Facilitate expedited enrollment if the child is new to the district or must change schools within the district to reduce out of school time for that child. Develop a transition plan, if retaining the child in the original school is not practical or not in the best interest of the child, preferably to another school within the district. Participate in educational planning on behalf of the xxxxxx child remaining in the school. This includes inviting the CA social worker, caregiver, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and parents (unless contact is restricted by the court), surrogate parent if appointed for special education purposes, and/or person acting in the role of parent to any meetings scheduled to discuss the educational needs of the child.
