Service Credit for Sick Leave. Employees who retire from the City of San Xxxxxx within 120 days of leaving City employment (excludes deferred retirements) shall receive employment service credit for retirement purposes only for all hours of accrued, unused sick leave (exclusive of any sick leave hours they are eligible to receive and they elect to receive in compensation for at the time of retirement pursuant to Section 5.1.6 Compensation for Unused Portion (Sick Leave Payoff). Employees hired on or after July 1, 2009 are not eligible to receive employment service credit of any accrued, unused sick leave for retirement purposes.
