Safe, Healthy and Inclusive Communities. All the people who live in East Suffolk will have reasonable access to services and the area will be one of excellence for rural accessibility. Closer partnership working will help deliver a behavioral change towards an increase in the use of public and community transport and a reduced need for personal transport, having the additional benefit of contributing towards CO2 reduction. All of the residents in East Suffolk will have the opportunity to live in a decent home in a healthy, inclusive and cohesive community where the incidences of poverty will have been reduced. Growth Point or similar status in the Haven Gateway sub-region and physical regeneration within the Lowestoft Outer Harbour and Lake Lothing area will have brought real benefits by ensuring that increased jobs and housing levels have been achieved in parallel with one another and with the required infrastructure, but sensitively and in a way which maintains the quality of the local environment. A flexible approach to development policies in the rural areas will enable the development of new housing in order to meet local needs, thereby building sustainable, thriving and supportive rural communities. A sustainable mix of housing will have been provided recognising new lifetime homes in areas of high elderly population and affordable housing to encourage young people to stay in the area and work locally. Local people will be fully engaged in decision making for their communities and parish/town plans will have an increasing role to play. Local people will be involved in making their communities safer. Greater involvement, increased prosperity and inclusiveness will mean that crime rates and fear of crime is reduced. The provision of better access to leisure facilities, open spaces within or adjacent to urban development areas and the wider countryside will have had the benefit of encouraging a healthier lifestyle, both mental and physical. The population will be comparatively healthy, with people taking more habitual physical activity by utilising the range of high quality sports and recreation facilities available to them. Residents will have their health care needs met by a network of mainly local services that have a reputation for excellence. Health inequalities between those living in relatively deprived areas and those living elsewhere will have been reduced, so that life expectancy and the incidence of ill- health will be to the same improved level across the District’s and on a par wi...

  • HEALTH AND WELFARE 36.01 Health and welfare benefits shall be as contained in Appendix "A" of this Agreement and shall form part of this Agreement.

  • Accident Prevention Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually to maintain standards of safety and health in the Hospital in order to prevent accidents, injury, and illness. ected or Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a member of its Accident Prevention Health and Safety Committee, at least one (1) representative sel appointed by the Union from amongst Bargaining Unit employees. Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and means of improving health and safety programs, and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. The Hospital agrees to co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee its functions. Meetings shall be held every second month or more frequently at the call of the Chair if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of meetings and make the Same available for review. Any representative appointed or accordancewith hereof shall serve for a term of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment which may be renewed for further of one (1) year. Time off for such to attend meetings of the Accident Prevention Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing shall be granted, and any attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not lose regular as a result of such The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. Safety Shoes The Hospital will provide sixty dollars ($60.00) annually effective April and eighty dollars ($80.00) effective April to each employee who is required by the Hospital, as delineated below, to wear safety footwear during the of his duties. The Hospital will require employees the following functions to wear appropriate Engineering Services; Grounds; Transport; (only where frequently working in storage areas).   • Safety and Health Committee The District's Safety and Health Committee shall include three (3) classified staff members appointed by ECCE who shall fully participate in the duties and functions of the Committee. The Safety and Health Committee shall normally meet on a monthly basis.

  • TRANSPORTATION AND TRAVEL TIME 12.01 The Employer will provide transportation to and from jobs from the Employer’s shop. If an employee’s car is used for such transportation, the owner shall be paid fifty cents (50¢) per kilometre for such use.

  • Extended Health Care Plan (a) The Employer shall pay the monthly premium for regular employees entitled to coverage under a mutually acceptable Extended Health Care Plan.

  • Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union recognize the role of the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting a safe and healthful workplace. The parties agree that a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be established for each Employer covered by this Collective Agreement. The Committee shall govern itself in accordance with the provisions of the Industrial Health and Safety Regulations made pursuant to the Workers’ Compensation Act. The Committee shall be as between the Employer and the Union, with equal representation, and with each party appointing its own representatives. Representatives of the Union shall be chosen by the Union membership or appointed by the Union. All minutes of the meetings of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee will be recorded in a mutually agreeable format and will be sent to the Union. The Union further agrees to actively pursue with the other Health Care Unions a Joint Union Committee for the purposes of this Article. The Employer agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Employer members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfil those duties competently. The Union agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Union members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfil those duties competently. Such training and orientation shall take place within six (6) months of taking office.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union agree to cooperate in the promotion of safe working conditions, the prevention of accidents, the prevention of workplace injuries and the promotion of safe workplace practices.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Acts Contractor(s) who perform any work under this contract shall fully comply with the provisions of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and any amendments thereto and regulations pursuant to the act. Any Contractor who fails to do so may be terminated for cause as set forth below.
