Open spaces definition

Open spaces means lands which are open to the public for pedestrian use and momentary repose, relaxation and contemplation.
Open spaces means undeveloped lands suitable for passive recreation or conservation uses.
Open spaces means those natural or cultural resource areas that contain natural vegetation, fish, wildlife, or have historic, scenic, recreation and education value. Examples of open spaces in cities and towns include, but are not limited to, parks, riverfronts and town squares. In rural areas, open spaces include, but are not limited to, such areas as woodlands, prairies, marshlands, river corridors, lake shores, parks and wildlife areas.

Open spaces means an area of land set aside and required to be legally protected, in the opinion and to the satisfaction of the Municipality, from development over and above the assignment of land use rights, which shall be for the use and benefit of a community, irrespective of ownership of such land and may include, in the opinion of the Municipality, recreational areas, natural areas, parks, public and private open space for purposes of compliance with this By-law;
