Rate of Pay Following Promotion. When a represented employee is promoted, the new rate of pay will be the lowest step in the new salary range which will result in the employee receiving at least 5% more than the actual base rate in the old classification. The actual rate will also include Motorcycle, and Dog Handler pay if these differentials will be lost as a result of the promotion. It will not include Education Incentive or Bilingual pay.

Rate of Pay Following Promotion. ‌ When a unit employee is promoted, the new rate of pay will be the lowest step in the new range which will result in the employee receiving at least 5% more than the actual rate in the old classification. The actual rate will also include Motorcycle, Dog Handler, or Agent pay if these differentials will be lost as a result of the promotion. It will not include Education Incentive or Bilingual Pay. Employees previously receiving Bilingual Pay will continue to receive it if the new position requires the use of approved bilingual skills. This determination will be made by the Director of Human Resources upon the written request of the Chief of Police.
