Common use of Professional Development/Remediation Plan Clause in Contracts

Professional Development/Remediation Plan. (a). A teacher rated as “needs improvement” shall have a professional development plan and procedure developed and implemented in accordance with Section 24A- 5 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/24A-5(h)], which plan shall provide a period of ninety (90) days for improvement with a final evaluation at the end of such period. The consulting teacher for the professional development plan shall be selected by the administrator from a list of three teachers having a rating of at least proficient selected by the teacher. If the teacher does not receive a rating of “proficient” or “excellent” in his or her final evaluation the teacher shall be rated as “unsatisfactory.”
