Military Duty Leave. An employee who is called for and serves temporary military duty or who enlists or is otherwise ordered or called to active duty in the armed forces of the United States, the National Guard, or the Naval Militia shall, if he/she has completed one (1) full year of active classified service with the District and/or in recognized military service, be entitled to a military leave without loss of compensation for up to the first thirty (30) calendar days of necessary absence from duty provided that such leave shall be applicable each fiscal year for absences due to temporary military service.
