Leave for Union Business - Conventions. 7.5.1 The Employer agrees to grant a leave of absence, with pay and without loss of seniority, for up to two (2) members of the Bargaining Unit who are appointed as delegates to attend the following: - Canadian Labour Congress; - CUPE National Convention; - CUPE Ontario Convention; - Ontario Municipal Employees Coordinating Conference; - Ontario Federation of Labour Convention; - CUPE National Human Rights Conference; - Canadian Health and Safety Conference, to an annual maximum total of fifty (50) working days per calendar year.

  • Leave for Union Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Union to attend Union business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Union. The Hospital will xxxx the local Union within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.

  • Time Off for Union Business Leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority will be granted:

  • Leave of Absence for Union Business (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union Conventions, negotiations of the Collective Agreement with the Employer and other Union business. The Union agrees that such leave will not unduly affect the proper operations or be detrimental to the proficient operations of the Employer.

  • Leave for Union Activities Upon request by the Union, leave without pay will be granted to any employee duly authorized to represent employees of this bargaining unit at:

  • For Union Business Representatives of the Union shall not suffer any loss of pay when required to leave their employment temporarily in order to carry on negotiations with the Employer, or with respect to a grievance.

  • Leave for Association Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Association to attend Association business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator.   • CULTURAL LEAVE FOR ABORIGINAL EMPLOYEES The Superintendent of Schools or their designate, may grant five (5) paid days per year leave with seven (7) days written notice from the employee to participate in Aboriginal Cultural event(s). Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied.

  • TTOCs CONDUCTING UNION BUSINESS 1. Where a TTOC is authorized by the local union or BCTF to conduct union business during the work week, the TTOC shall be paid by the employer according to the collective agreement.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE - UNION BUSINESS 11.08.01 Employees who have been elected or appointed to carry out business authorized by the Union on a full-time basis shall be granted a Leave of Absence for this purpose. The Union will advise the Company of the name(s) of such employee(s), the term of such leave, and the specific purpose. The Union shall repay the Company for the Company's costs incurred in Employee Benefit Plans and the employee(s) shall continue to pay their contributions directly to the Company. The Company shall provide such employees with free and reduced-rate transportation in accordance with Company regulations. Such employees shall continue to accrue seniority and service while on leave of absence.
