Common use of Interval Between Shifts Clause in Contracts

Interval Between Shifts. Except in cases of emergency, there shall be an interval of not less than ten (10) hours between shifts for all employees unless mutually agreed. The Employer will make best efforts to avoid scheduling employees for an opening shift where the employee is scheduled to close on the previous night and where store hours are less than ten (10) hours between close and open. Where the Employer is required to schedule an employee for a close/open shift, these shifts will be scheduled based on fair rotation.
