Common use of Interruption of Vacation Clause in Contracts

Interruption of Vacation. An employee in the bargaining unit shall be permitted to interrupt or terminate vacation leave in order to begin another type of paid leave provided by this Agreement without a return to active service. To utilize another type of leave, paid or unpaid, the employee must request the type of leave from their Supervisor, Manager, Principal and/or Administrator and provide any required documentation for that commensurate leave. The employee must clearly identify when the last date of vacation is and when the newly requested leave is to start. There shall be no break in service for an employee on a paid or unpaid leave of absence. There shall be no break in service for an employee on a paid or unpaid leave of absence.
