Common use of Interruption of Vacation Clause in Contracts

Interruption of Vacation. A unit member shall be permitted to interrupt or terminate an approved vacation in order to begin paid leave provided for in this Agreement without a return to active service, provided the unit member supplies notice and supporting documentation regarding the basis for the interruption or termination. The employer reserves the right to request and receive additional documentation verifying the necessity of the interruption or termination. If such documentation is not provided within fifteen (15) work days, the unit member’s vacation shall be adjusted to deduct the days of claimed interruption or termination.
