Interior Circulation. Maneuvering room inside shall accommodate easy travel for a passenger in a wheelchair from the boarding device through to the designated parking area, and back out. No portion of the wheelchair or its occupant shall protrude into the normal aisle when parked in the designated parking space(s). As a guide, no width dimension should be less than 32 inches. A three dimensional cube of 32 x 32 x 48 inches shall able to freely maneuver from street level, over the ramp, to the securement areas and out again without restriction of movement or any interference. Areas requiring 90° turns of wheelchairs should have a clearance arc dimension no less than 45.0 inches and in the parking area where 180° turns are expected, space should be clear in a full 60-inch-diameter circle. A vertical clearance of 12.0 inches above the floor surface should be provided on the outside of turning areas for wheelchair footrest. The Bidders submittals shall provide a plan including scale layout drawings for entry, maneuvering, parking, and exiting of mobility aid passengers.
