Individual Grievance Step 1. Grievance(s) must be submitted in writing to the Principal, Immediate Supervisor or Designate within twenty (20) school days of the time the grievor became aware of the circumstances giving rise to the grievance. Within ten (10) school days of receipt of the grievance, a meeting will be held with the grievor, a Union representative and the Principal, Immediate Supervisor or Designate. The Principal, Immediate Supervisor or Designate shall respond to the grievance in writing within ten (10) school days of the meeting.

Individual Grievance Step 1. An Occasional Teacher who has a complaint arising from the interpretation, application, administration or alleged violation of this Agreement shall, with an O.S.S.T.F. representative, discuss the matter with his/her principal or immediate Supervisor within twenty (20) school days of the teacher becoming aware of the circumstances giving rise to the complaint. The principal or immediate Supervisor shall respond to the complaint, in writing, within five (5) school days of the aforementioned discussions. Step 2 If no settlement is reached, District 28, O.S.S.T.F., shall file a grievance, in writing to the Director of Education within five (5) school days of the response from the principal or immediate Supervisor. Within ten (10) school days of the receipt of the grievance, a meeting will be held with the grievor, a Federation representative and the Board's Grievance Committee. A written response will be provided to the Federation from the Director of Education within five (5) school days of the meeting.

The grievant or Union shall file this written grievance within fifteen (15) calendar days after his/her receipt of the supervisor’s decision from Step One. A meeting with the appropriate Program Director or his/her representative, the grievant and the advocate or Union staff representative shall be held not later than ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the written grievance. The appropriate Program Director’s response shall be addressed to the grievant and the Union. The appropriate Program Director’s response shall be final and binding on the employee, the Union, and the Employer unless it is timely appealed to arbitration by the Union in accordance with this Article. Grievances concerning discharge or discrimination, or grievances filed by the Union shall be filed initially at Step Two. Group grievances claiming the same alleged conduct involving employees who work under more than one supervisor may be filed initially at Step Two. Multiple individual grievances alleging the same violation that are filed during the same time frame may be combined into a group grievance and commenced at Step Two.

  • Group Grievance Where a number of employees have identical grievances and each employee would be entitled to grieve separately they may present a group grievance in writing signed by each employee who is grieving to the Administrator or her designate within ten (10) days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have occurred or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee(s). The grievance shall then be treated as being initiated at Step No. 1 and the applicable provisions of this Article shall then apply with respect to the processing of such grievance.
