This statement may be varied from time to time by agreement of the Partnership Board in full consultation with park users. Hillside Gardens Park and Palace Road Nature Garden are valued green spaces and their management and development will aim to keep in balance the following objectives:  Inclusion / Access / Diversity of use: to maximise the use of the sites as community assets and a resource for the long-term benefit of all sections of the community and to proactively build networks and connections locally across different sections of the community, promoting social cohesion.  Heritage: to preserve and enhance historic features and landscape integrity.  Sport: to ensure effective management of sports facilities, maximising participation.  Ecology and Biodiversity: to protect and enhance ecology and biodiversity.  Sustainability / Quality: to achieve the highest possible standards with environmental and economic sustainability as guiding principles.  Promotion / Safe / Welcoming / Stimulating: to promote the sites by providing a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for sport, informal recreation, education and access to nature.  Health / Wellbeing: to contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of the local community.  Community Involvement: to create a working partnership for the ongoing and future management of the Park between the Council, stakeholders and local community.
