Employee Hired Prior To January 1, 1994. 1. An employee of the DISTRICT who retires under the provisions of the Salaried Employees Retirement Plan on or after June 16, 2009, will be eligible to receive a Health and Welfare (CalPERS Medical, Dental, Life) Allowance for himself/herself upon retirement, but shall be required to pay ten percent (10%) of the monthly Medical Insurance Coverage premium cost incurred by the DISTRICT. The retiree may elect to provide Health and Welfare (medical and dental) Coverage for his/her dependent(s), however, the retiree shall be required to pay a percentage of the premium cost incurred by the DISTRICT for medical coverage for the dependent’s coverage, as specified under Section 32.01B, below. The retiree’s share of the cost for such coverage shall be deducted semi-monthly from the retiree’s retirement benefits.
