Chief Stewards and Stewards. The Union shall be represented by three (3) Chief Stewards and a reasonable number of Stewards. The names of the Chief Stewards and the Stewards shall be furnished in writing to the Department of Human Resources and the appropriate Division Head. Under normal circumstances, for the purpose of releasing Stewards for meetings, the City shall release a Chief Xxxxxxx and two (2) Stewards from the Refuse Collection Operation, a Chief Xxxxxxx and one (1) Xxxxxxx from Maintenance and one (1) Xxxxxxx from Operations from the Water Reclamation Plant, and one (1) Chief Xxxxxxx from the Land Fill Operation. When it is necessary to release additional or all stewards from a particular unit, or units, the Business Agent of Local 20 will request and review the matter with the Division of Employee Relations.

  • Chief Stewards Leave of absence with current pay, benefits and without loss of seniority will be granted to one (1) chief xxxxxxx for up to a combined maximum total of six (6) days per year to deal with Collective Agreement related problems on the work sites within the contract area.   • LABOR-MANAGEMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE Section 1. The Employer and the Federation agree to the establishment of Labor- Management Relations Committees for Divisions represented by the Federation. The purpose of these Committees is to discuss any item of concern, including safety, to either party and to improve communications between the Employer and the members of the bargaining unit.

  • Labour Management Relations Committee 20.01 The parties recognize that a forum for ongoing discussions during the term of the Agreement can promote more harmonious labour relations between them.

  • Union Stewards The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. A Chief Xxxxxxx or designate may, in the absence of any xxxxxxx, assist in the presentation of any grievance, or with any xxxxxxx function. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. The number of stewards and the areas which they represent, are to be determined locally."
