Common use of Bilingual Premium Clause in Contracts

Bilingual Premium. 91. Bilingual pay, in the amount of thirty-five dollars ($35) bi-weekly, shall be paid to members who have been certified by the Department of Human Resources as having proficiency in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, sign language for the hearing impaired and Braille for the visually impaired. Members certified by the Department of Human Resources as having proficiency in other languages shall, upon the approval of the appointing officer, receive this bilingual premium.

Bilingual pay, in the amount of thirty-five dollars ($35) bi-weekly, shall be paid to members Employees who have been certified by the Department of Human Resources as having proficiency in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Arabic, sign language for the hearing impaired and Braille for the visually impairedimpaired shall be paid bilingual pay in the amount of fifty dollars ($50) bi-weekly for routinely and consistently using their bilingual skills during the performance of their duties. Members certified by the Department of Human Resources as having proficiency in other languages shall, upon the approval of the appointing officer, receive this bilingual premium.

Bilingual pay, in the amount of thirty-five dollars ($35) bi-weekly, shall be paid Subject to members who have been certified by the Department of Human Resources approval, employees who are certified as having proficiency in Spanishbilingual and who are assigned to perform bilingual services shall receive a bilingual premium of sixty dollars ($60) per pay period. For purposes of this section, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, “bilingual” means the ability to interpret and/or translate non-English languages including sign language for the hearing impaired and Braille for the visually impaired. Members certified , and “certified” means the employee has successfully passed a language proficiency test approved by the Department Director of Human Resources as having proficiency in other languages shall, upon the approval of the appointing officer, receive this bilingual premiumResources.
