Common use of Bereavement and Serious Illness Leave Clause in Contracts

Bereavement and Serious Illness Leave. 13.05.1 Provided that the Teacher has given verbal notification to the Principal or designate prior to the taking of the leave, the Teacher will be granted absence from duty because of bereavement or serious illness in the Teacher’s immediate family up to, but not exceeding five (5) school days on each occasion, with pay and benefits outlined in Article12 (Benefits).
