Association Leadership. Upon application, an unpaid leave of one (1) year, subject to renewal upon written request, shall be granted to any teacher for the purpose of serving as an officer of the JEA, JCEA, MEA and NEA, or on their staffs. Upon return from such leave, such teacher shall be placed at the same position on the salary schedule as if the teacher had taught in the school system during such period.
