Accidents Covered by Workers’ Compensation. An employee prevented from performing their regular work with the employer on account of an occupational accident that is recognized by the Workers' Compensation Board as compensable within the meaning of the Workers' Compensation Act, shall receive from the employer the difference between the amount payable by the Workers' Compensation Board and their regular salary to a maximum of six (6) months, provided that such employee shall not be entitled to use their sick leave credits for time lost during the said six (6) month period by reason of any such disability.

Accidents Covered by Workers’ Compensation i. Accidents Covered by Workers’ Compensation. An employee who is injured in the course of their duties will have their Workers' Compen- sation salary award supplemented from their sick leave account to provide for payment of their full salary, until the employee's sick leave credits have been exhausted. In the event that an employee does not wish to use their sick leave credits in this manner, they shall receive their Workers' Compensation salary award, and there shall be no deduction from their sick leave credits. Written notification selecting this latter option must be given to the Board's business office at the time the accident is reported.
