The widely used Verlet Neighbor List algorithm [8] pre-calculates the distances be- tween pairs of interacting particles to determine whether their interactions are signif- icant enough to calculate the computationally expensive force calculation.
The best performance was achieved via a combination of the Neighbor List Algorithm and the Cell List algorithm [52], depicted in the right side of Figure 5.4.
